Solar Outlook

For equipment manufacturers

Your hardware.
A bigger picture.

Bring your devices into Solar Outlook, alongside the weather, solar forecast and the rest of a customer’s off-grid setup.

We’re working through devices one at a time. If you make batteries, solar controllers, inverters or other connected equipment, we’d be happy to work with you on an integration.

Why work together?

Give your customers
more from their setup.

Useful everyday context

Help people understand what their equipment is doing alongside the solar they can expect. Readings, forecasts and history give your hardware a useful place in the wider system.

Easy to get started

Solar Outlook is ad-free and most features are free. Local device features developed with manufacturers will be free for every user, including any agreed settings and controls.

Optional services such as extended forecasts and cloud history are separate.

Compatibility people can find

We can list supported models and functions in our device catalogue. With your permission, we can also display your logo and link to your products on our website.

Start with one device

A practical way
to build support.

Direct access to your technical team, protocol documentation and test equipment can help us build a more complete and reliable integration.

Current integrations focus on monitoring. With documented Bluetooth commands and your support, we can explore deeper functionality, including device settings and control. We would agree the available functions, permissions and limits with you, then test them before release.

Support depends on the exact hardware, firmware and phone platform. An inclusion request starts a conversation; compatibility and release timing are confirmed after review and testing.

  1. 01

    Tell us about your range

Choose a model or family to start with and the readings or functions that matter to your customers.

  2. 02

    Share the technical detail

Bluetooth services, message formats, authentication, units and firmware differences help us read your equipment correctly.

  3. 03

    Check it together

Compare the integration with your own tools and test agreed behaviour on real hardware before we describe it as supported.

Let’s talk

Make your next
connection.

I’m Simon, the developer behind Solar Outlook and a full-time van dweller. I built the app around the questions I face with my own solar setup. I’d love to hear how we could make it useful for your customers too.

A helpful first message

  • Your company, website and technical contact.
  • The models and firmware you’d like us to look at.
  • A link to public protocol documents, or what you can share privately.
  • The readings and functions you’d like customers to use.
  • Whether test hardware or engineering support is available.

If the integration is a good fit, you’re welcome to recommend Solar Outlook to your customers. We can agree clear compatibility wording and links together.
